|Current Job Title:||Remodeling Consultant|
|Current Employer:||Power Home Remodeling Group|
What was your career path that led you to your current position?
After spending nearly 4 years in Non- profit fundraising/development at a Catholic bioethics think- tank, I determined it was time for a change. My theater degree and the profound influence of the UD Drama Department shaped my character and instilled me with an endless drive to take risks and try new things, so I took my experience in fundraising and non-profit leadership/development and melded it with my love of performance and desire to connect with people as I pursued my new consulting position at the 2nd largest exterior remodeling company in the nation. My work at Power is the perfect blend of emotional honesty, educational experience, and expertise with a spirit of service as I guide homeowners through immensely important remodeling decisions as they make positive, lasting improvements to what will likely be the largest investment of their life.
What kind of credentials, education, training, prior experience are needed?
The credentials necessary to be successful in this field are the same as we are taught at UD for success in life: No mere education, degree, or certification stating what you have learned, but a dedication to virtue and a drive to be great, not just good, in your given career. You must be prepared to be 100% honest with yourself and others every single day and be willing to take calculated risks and be bold, even when You experience failures. You must be willing to help others and want to improve the lives of every person you work with each day.
How was your major and/or your degree from UD related to your current work?
Working with homeowners and helping them to realize their dreams and make their dream home a reality is an amazing opportunity and a terrific career path. But, full disclosure, homeowners are a rollercoaster of emotion when they make important investments in something as personal as their home. It is of paramount importance to be able to navigate this emotion and theatrical experience helps immensely!
