The William A. Blakley Library, along with Campus Ministry, is sponsoring the 10th Annual Food for Fines. From March 14 – 25, patrons of the William A. Blakley Library are invited to help the community and themselves by donating non-perishable food items in lieu of paying library fines. Donated items will benefit the St. Jude’s Catholic Church food pantry, so any food donations will be gratefully accepted (regardless of whether or not you are paying a fine).
For each non-perishable food donation you make, we’ll reduce your fines by $1, to a maximum of $50. Just bring your donations to the Circulation Desk at any time during regular hours. Items needed are as follows:
- Canned meats
- Canned vegetables and fruits
- Canned juices
- Personal hygiene products (soap, toothpaste, etc.)
- Evaporated and powdered milk
- Peanut butter
- Macaroni & cheese
- Baking mixes
- Dried fruits
- Paper and cleaning products
Don’t have any fines? You can request that your donation be applied to someone else’s fees!
Neither glass jars nor expired food will be accepted. Certain restrictions apply. For more information, visit Food For Fines
