The Latin American Studies program invites you all to join us on Monday, October 26, at 7pm for our annual Porres lecture. For this lecture named after St. Martin de Porres, we invite a speaker to discuss issues relevant to Latin America and/or Latin American communities in the United States. This year, we are delighted to announce that our speaker is internationally-renowned journalist Alfredo Corchado. The title of his talk is “Border Disruption.” The event will be virtual. People in Hispanic/Latinx communities have an increased risk for developing Alzheimer’s. The Dallas chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is sponsoring a virtual event to provide information especially for Latinas to prevent cognitive decline.
