Graduate students share advice, favorite memories and how they’ve been impacted by their UD experience
What is your current occupation and what are some of your responsibilities in that role?
I’m a business consultant, currently serving as a program manager for Freeman Company, a leading provider of integrated services for experiential marketing. The current project I’m working on entails revamping an online web platform to enhance the user experience for our online customers. My specific responsibilities are to manage the business side of the project by controlling timelines, budget, planning and go-to-market strategies once the system is live.
Do you have a favorite professor?
My favorite professor, hands down, is Dr. Sue Conger. She is not only widely knowledgeable in a variety of subjects, but she’s also very willing to share her experiences from the many domains she knows. She’s also very personable and engaging. Any time I had questions, she always provided extra clarity and good direction.
Since pursuing both my M.S. and MBA at UD, I’ve been able to acquire several consulting roles at major corporations that have really boosted my experience and career. I’m very passionate about education and strongly believe that learning is an activity that should never end.
What advice do you have for incoming students?
My advice is to never give up. Even in your most frustrating moments, keep marching forward, for there is a light at the end of the tunnel that will one day have huge payoffs.
Fun facts about Stephanie:
I love to run! And something most people would never expect is that I really enjoy playing video games (my favorite is “Fallout”). Outside of that, I’m obsessed with learning new things about technology. I’m always on the lookout for new industry certifications to obtain or web tutorials of various things to watch.
